About
Benjamin Lam is a design lecturer and illustrator from Penang, Malaysia. Growing up in the vibrant culture of the 90s, he was profoundly influenced by manga, Saturday morning cartoons, and the neon-drenched aesthetics of 80s cyberpunk. These inspirations continue to resonate throughout his artistic journey.
Currently, Benjamin is developing an ambitious sci-fi project titled Future City X. This work seamlessly blends his passion for manga with the allure of cyberpunk, showcasing captivating characters adorned with intricate machine appendages and technology against neon-lit environments. Through Future City X, Benjamin invites viewers to explore a dystopian world at the frontier of innovation, where cyber-augmented humans wield laser swords and plasma rifles against neon-coloured backgrounds, blurring the lines between the organic and the mechanical.
